Sony's Screen Gems has set a US September 7, 2007 release date for the anticipated third installment, Resident Evil: Extinction, directed by Russell Mulcahy and written by Paul W.S. Anderson. The video game adaptation will star Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr, Mike Epps, Ali Larter, Chris Egan, Ashanti, Iain Glen, Sienna Guillory, Spencer Locke and John Eric Bentley.
The studio will release director Andrew Douglas' Priest in the US on August 17, 2007. Based on the popular Japanese comic, this is the story of a priest (Gerard Butler) who goes against the laws of the church to hunt the vampires who kidnapped his niece.
Screen Gems has also put down the horror-thriller Vacancy, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Luke Wilson, for a US April 13, 2007 release. In the film, a young married couple becomes stranded at an isolated motel and finds hidden video cameras in their room. They realize that unless they escape, they'll be the next victims of a snuff film.
No UK dates have been announced at this time.
