Frank Miller’s epic graphic novel "300" is on its way, and you can catch the preview online of this legendary tale as stylised by Miller’s unique vision. "300" is about the historic battle of Thermopylae where King Leonidas leads 300 Spartans against the thousands upon thousands of invading Persians. They fought to the death, losing to Xerxes, but courageously standing in the face of insurmountable odds.
Director Zack Snyder ("Dawn of the Dead") captures Miller’s comic vision with graphic violence and dramatic mood created with uniquely designed surroundings and brutally furious action. Gerard Butler ("Reign of Fire" and "Beowulf & Grendel") plays the fortuitous King of Sparta. Just as Thermopylae is considered one of the most incredible war strikes in history, Sparta is considered to be one of the greatest military states to ever exist, and also regarded as one of the most notable states in Ancient Greece.
The trailer illustrates the gory and savage struggle for survival in the same ways for which Miller’s comics have always been revered. It is an outstanding depiction of the human will to live and live free, but with a twist on its presentation. This is sure to be one war film that sets itself apart from all others, and you will either love it or be put off to it for all that makes it different. If you are a fan of Miller’s work, there is nothing here to disappoint. "300" seems like it will be "Sin City" meets "Troy." Watch it (Thanks to our buddy Tom from Solace for the updated trailer link since its up and down all day)
