This year’s MTV Movie Awards reminded us that MTV stopped being cool years ago. There were some highlights though. Host Sarah Silverman cracked jokes about Paris Hilton going to jail…before the cameras panned over a disinterested-looking Hilton in the audience. Later in the show, presenter Dane Cook added to the joke by saying that Paris was so upset by Silverman’s joke, she checked herself into jail early. When they cut to Hilton in the audience again, she seemed even more bored, but I’d like to think that there were tears in her eyes.

Other highlights include Jessica Alba walking on stage as a presenter, and the camera panning to Jessica Biel in the audience. Bruce Willis and Justin Long presenting for Best Fight and Willis starting the conversation with his famous line from the Die Hard series, “Yippee-ki-yay, motherf*****!”

The fan-created movie spoofs were all lame, except United 300, which actually won the title of Best Movie Spoof. Sarah Silverman’s spoof was probably the funniest part of her hosting duties, but then again I was never a big fan of hers.
