The feature film "300" leads the pack of nominees for the 2007 MTV Movie Awards with a total of five mentions, followed by "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" with four noms.

Both films will vie for best movie honors with "Blades of Glory," "Borat" and "Little Miss Sunshine."

In addition, "300" received noms for stars Gerard Butler (best performance), Lena Headey (breakthrough performance) and Rodrigo Santoro (best villain) and also was cited for best fight (Butler vs. "the Uber Immortal").

"Pirates' " other mentions came in the categories for best performance for Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley and best villain for Bill Nighy.

Also competing for the best performance "golden popcorn" award are Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce Knowles for "Dreamgirls" and Will Smith for "The Pursuit of Happyness."

Smith's son, Jaden, also has been nominated for "Happyness" in the breakthrough performance category along with Headey, Emily Blunt for "The Devil Wears Prada," Abigail Breslin for "Little Miss Sunshine," Columbus Short for "Stomp the Yard" and Justin Timberlake for "Alpha Dog."

Blunt also earned a nomination in the comedic performance category, where she will vie with Sacha Baron Cohen for "Borat," Will Ferrell for "Blades of Glory," Adam Sandler for "Click" and Ben Stiller for "Night at the Museum."

Rounding out the best villain nominees are Tobin Bell of "Saw III," Jack Nicholson of "The Departed" and Meryl Streep of "Prada."

MTV also announced two new categories this year, including the awards' first-ever user-generated category -- best movie spoof -- where viewers can submit original movie shorts parodying films from the past year.

The other new category is best summer movie you haven't seen yet. Nominees are "Evan Almighty," "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," "Hairspray," "Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix," "Rush Hour 3" and "Transformers."

Mark Burnett is executive producing the 16th annual awards show, which will be hosted by Sarah Silverman. The ceremony will air live for the first time at 8 p.m. June 3 from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City.
