The Oxford International Film Festival has announced the winners of the 2007 competition.

Audience Award winning films include: Best Documentary Feature “Wrath of Gods,” co-produced by Gerard Butler and Jon Gustafsson; Best Narrative Feature “Mojave Phone Booth,” produced and directed by John Putch; Best Narrative Short “Little Gorilla” directed by Harry Kellerman; Best Documentary Short “Alex Scott, A Stand for Hope” directed by Larry Mendte; and Best Animated Film “Sam & Piccolo” directed by Adam Walker.

Jury Award winning films include; Best Student Film “The Little Gorilla,” directed by Harry Kellerman; Best Original Score “Free Spirits,” directed by Bruce Geisler; Best Actor Christopher Kennedy Masterson, “Intellectual Property;” Best Actress Rosalie Ward, “Winter Sea;” Best Narrative Feature “Intellectual Property,” directed by Nicholas Peterson; Best Narrative Short “All’s Fair,” directed by David Jibladze; Best Documentary Short “Gimme Green,” directed by Isaac Brown; and Best of Fest “Anonymous,” directed by Cristian Pozo. “It’s Happiness,” directed by Ohio filmmaker Craig DiBiase, was awarded Best Documentary Feature and Best Ohio Film.

The four-day festival attracted 1,000 attendees to screen 78 independent films alongside an opening night premiere gala and a group of workshops and filmmaker panels led by industry professionals, including director John Putch’s “How to Make an Anti-Hollywood Movie (For Under 40 Grand),” composer Douglas Romayne Stevens’ “Directing The Composer Workshop,” cinematographer Jeff Barklage’s “Cinematography Film vs. Digital” and an actors discussion panel led by the cast of John Putch’s “Mohave Phone Booth,” including actors Christine Elise, Missi Pyle, Robert Romanus and David Deluise.

Other notable filmmakers who attended the festival with their film include Richard Kraft, director of the Documentary Feature “Finding Kraftland” and Bruce Geisler, director of the award-winning “Free Spirits.” The OIFF also hosted the World Premiere of the Narrative Feature “Fingerman: Dr. London and the Triangle Force” which screened before a packed audience. The film, which was shot in West Chester, Ohio last year, was directed by Miami Alumni and co-founder/former president of the Miami Film Association AJ Rickert-Epstein.
