Beowulf and Grendel
Beautifully realized, blood-soaked retelling of the Anglo Saxon poem about Norse hero Beowulf (Gerard Butler) and his attempt to rid the Danes of the murderous troll, Grendel (Ingvar Sigurdsson). At stake is the kingdom of King Hrothgar (Stellan Skarsgaard) and the love of a witch named Selma (Sarah Polley). Gorgeous locations, macho acting, visceral action, the myth comes alive with bravado and surprise and, at times, unexpected poignancy. DVD includes deleted scenes, commentary and featurettes.
