For those of you who are fans of Beowulf & Grendel or just dig Gerard Butler, we have recently been alerted that the film has now found its way into release DownUnder.

Beowulf & Grendel Heads to New Zealand

MoviesDownUnder is pleased to announce an agreement with Arclight Films International to distribute films for theatrical release in New Zealand. MoviesDownUnder is the product of husband and wife partners Nicola and Michael Painter. Their first venture will be Beowulf & Grendel directed by Sturla Gunnarsson with screenplay by Andrew Rai Berzins. The film opens in 24 theatres on October 5th with additional theatres to follow. A Region 4 DVD is scheduled for release prior to the Christmas holiday season.

I'm thrilled that Beowulf & Grendel will be seen on the big screen in New Zealand -- and grateful to the fans who have kept the movie alive and made it thrive. --Sturla

The Painters are entrepreneurs in their New Zealand home of Auckland and look forward to their involvement in the film industry. Watch their progress at www.moviesdownunder.com.

We're delighted to have such a unique film as Beowulf & Grendel for our first release. There is an enormous amount of interest in this film throughout New Zealand, in part due to Tolkien connections. Our next priority will be to release a Collector's dvd. --Nic and Mike

Beowulf & Grendel arrives DownUnder on October 5th.
