I have recently received an email from 'Sandie' with all of the latest developmetns on Beowulf & Grendel.

The Seattle Int'l Film Festival left Beowulf & Grendel with 2 sellouts. There was mention that it was the only film to sell out two shows 10 days prior to screening. Sturla was in attendance, and of course he "wowed" the crowd. Other directors were jealous of his popularity and questioned him as to how he attracted the large number of filmgoers. He has become quite the celebrity. Just as in Canada, the educational community has come out in full force. Bus loads of high school students attended the festival, as well as filmgoers in full chainmail. I have a photo if you'd like to use it. Here is a link for a live interview if you're interested. B&G had it's first commercial release the following week. The first weekend was a bit slow, probably due to the previous sellouts. However the weekday showings at the Varsity warranted an additional week. Still waiting for box office results. B&G was listed as #9 for it's opening weekend of June 16th by IndieWire. B&G was shown for charity in Las Vegas by a fansite called Gerard Butler GALS if you're interested.

Gerry's former London PA is back in his employ. There's a rumor she's pursuing an acting career. She offered to appear at the June fan convention as a speaker and surprised the crowd with an appearance by the Butler himself. He was in Vegas to attend the premier of Danika directed by his friend Ariel Vromen who directed him in a short called Jewel of the Sahara. I think it was a college project or something. Gerry and Ariel have been spotted at L.A. hotspots.

We have also been told that you can buy the Canadian distributed DVD for Beowulf & Grendel at Amazon.Ca. The DVD will be released over their in July and then here in the states in September.

Beowulf & Grendel, starring Gerard Butler, Stellan Skarsgård and Sarah Polley, is adapted from the seminal 9th century epic poem Beowulf, which tells the bloody tale of the warrior Beowulf’s battle with Grendel, a great and murderous troll.
