Gerard Butler Freakin' Frenzy
Duke City Fix

I feel like it's been sort of seething below the surface of polite Albuquerque ever since the film Game came to town: Our collective if covert lust for Gerard Butler.
I mean it -- I've had countless conversations in the last two months with otherwise sober and sane women about the absolute hysteria that the star of Phantom of the Opera and 300 has been causing in our town.
And now the rest of the world is experiencing it too. According to celebrity staker site TMZ, 300 crazed fans showed up at the Hollywood premier of the man's latest film, screaming and (for all I know) having fits of the vapors over a guy whose name I'm not even sure I'm pronouncing correctly.
Speaking for myself, I periodically forget that he's here. And then someone will mention it or I'll see an exploded truck lying across the road Downtown and it's like I almost get a little bit faint. Somehow it wasn't like this for me with any of those other productions. But Game (maybe coming at the same time as the release of No Country For Old Men?) is the movie that's finally brought it home for me -- hot Hollywood guys walk among us here in the Duke City.
Note to self: Don't leave the house without lipstick on. Game is shooting here through February, and one never knows where Gerry might be lurking....
