Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla Gets Its Cast

It appears Guy Ritchie’s latest attempt to recapture the magic of “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels” and shake off the shackles of “Swept Away” and “Revolver” has found its cast. For his latest crime caper “RocknRolla”, to be shot in the vein of “Barrels” and “Snatch”, two of Guy’s most successful (and early) films, Ritchie has assembled the casting of Gerard Butler, Tom Wilkinson, Thandie Newton, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Idris Elba. Yes, Gerard Butler has been cast in yet another major movie. I’m telling you, 2007-08 will see Butler be in at least 50% of every movie ever made.

So what’s “RocknRolla” about?

A Russian mobster orchestrates a crooked land deal, putting millions of dollars up for grabs and attracting all of London’s criminal underworld.

I wonder how Lucaris is going to figure into a movie about Russian mobsters and Londoners, though…

But anyways
