Gerard Butler is a busy guy...

First comes news that Butler will star in the upcoming Untouchables prequel Capone Rising for director Brian De Palma. The movie stars Nicolas Cage playing Capone, the role originated by Robert De Niro. Butler will likely play the role of Jimmy Malone, originated by Sean Connery who won an Oscar for his performance.

Second, Butler will star in the futuristic thriller Game for Lakeshore Entertainment. The story takes place in a world where mind-control technology has taken society by storm. In this dystopian world, the ultimate online simulation environment is humans remote-controlling other humans in mass-scale, multiplayer online gaming. Butler will play Kable, the top-ranked warrior in the highest-rated game, called "Slayers". With his every move tracked by millions, Kable's ultimate challenge is to regain his identity and bring down the system that has imprisoned him.

Third, Butler will star opposite Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin in Fox Walden kids adventure Nim's Island based on Wendy Orr's kids book of the same name. The story follows a girl who lives on a tropical isle with her father, a scientist whose boat runs into trouble one day, leaving the girl to fend for herself on the island. She begins emailing the author of the book she is reading, and with the author's help, is able to manage. The trio ultimately unites to save the island from careless tour companies.

Butler starred earlier this year in 300. He next stars with Hilary Swank in P.S., I Love You.
