'Meet the Robinsons' takes second spot
NEW YORK - Paramount's laffer "Blades of Glory" slid into first over the weekend at the B.O., taking in $33 million from 3,372 theaters.
Pic came to Par via DreamWorks and MTV Films. The film stars Will Ferrell and Jon Heder.
Trailing at No. 2 was Disney's CG-animated "Meet the Robinsons," which tallied $25 million in its debut, from 3,413. About 600 of those locations were showing the pic in digital 3-D.
Among holdovers, Warner Bros.' battle epic "300" managed to stay in the top five at No. 3. Pic has cumed $179.6 million after four frames in theaters.
And last week's No. 1, "TMNT," slid to fourth place.
Pic, from Warners and the Weinstein Co., has cumed $38.4 million after two weekends. Biz slipped a sharp 62%.
